I obtained roughly $21,000.00 in funding and resources by asking for donations from businesses, contractors, my church, neighbors, friends, and family. I provided them each a presentation, donor letter, and email to tell them what I was trying to achieve. I met with many of them, briefed them on my project, asked for their support and followed up with them. I received a little over $6000.00 in cash, gift cards and store credits for the purchase of materials, including some money I got from salvaging metal from the tennis court fence. I also received several donations of major equipment, tools and other materials such as utility trucks, backhoe, dump trucks and telephone poles with estimated value of almost $15,000.00. These donations do not include donations from friends and family with other equipment and tools like wheelbarrows, chainsaws, generators, circular saws, drills, torches, hammers, and screwdrivers. There were 106 individuals that participated on my project with an accumulation of 1,128 hours of community service in the completion of my project which is detailed further below.
Below is a detailed list of the almost $21,000 in donations and how I broke out the different types of donations (cash, checks, store gift cards and credits, major equipment donations, telephone poles, asphalt disposal, etc.). This is followed by an expense matrix that I paid for with the funds received which all balanced out at the end.
Below is the service hours matrix for my project broken down for myself, scouts, scout leaders, additional youth and adults as well as the totals.
Below is a materials plan matrix forecasted for my project categorized by activity and stores.
Below are four files with my receipts for the materials purchased and mulch donations.
