My Eagle Service Project is a fun and fitness based attraction located at Kings Landing Park in Calvert County, Maryland which consisted of the demolition of an unusable and overgrown (90 by 94 ft) tennis court and a (36 by 60 ft) basketball court including removal of fence, overgrown vegetation, and roughly 119 cubic yards of asphalt and then the building of an extensive low-ropes/team building course with 11 activities and a storage box/bench including landscaping with numerous loads of sod and 55 cubic yards of mulch. The course activities include a horizontal cargo net, 100-ft monkey bridge, giant teeter-totter, zig-zag balance beam, stepping stones, tire rope climb, upside down rope climb, raging river crossing, bridge-out crossing, plank walk, and lava crossing activities. This challenge course gives the kids as well as adults of the area yet another reason to come to the park and gives tourists, scouts and the community a fun place to spend time with their family and friends while learning about nature, exercising on the low-ropes course, and gaining leadership and team-building skills. The course has already been used by thousands including hundreds of Scouts during a Spring Camporee, summer Cub Scout day camps, multiple Boy and Girl Scouts campouts, American Heritage Girls outings, Camp Cops summer camp, 4-H clubs, the Tidewater School, Arc of Southern Maryland special needs group, and specifically by Huntingtown High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps students for their Basic Leadership Training Course, Civil Air Patrol Unit, and Calvert County Natural Resources staff development, as well as hundreds of tourists and community families.
